0e4de4ceb0 Remove the deprecated concat_idents! macro
In [137653], the lang and libs-API teams did a joint FCP to deprecate
and eventually remove the long-unstable `concat_idents!` macro. The
deprecation is landing in 1.88, so do the removal here (target version
1.90).

This macro has been superseded by the more recent `${concat(...)}`
metavariable expression language feature, which avoids some of the
limitations of `concat_idents!`. The metavar expression is unstably
available under the [`macro_metavar_expr_concat`] feature.

History is mildly interesting here: `concat_idents!` goes back to 2011
when it was introduced with 513276e595f8 ("Add #concat_idents[] and
about the same:

    let asdf_fdsa = "<.<";
    assert(#concat_idents[asd,f_f,dsa] == "<.<");

    assert(#ident_to_str[use_mention_distinction]
           == "use_mention_distinction");

(That test existed from introduction until its removal here.)

Closes: https://www.github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/29599

Add iter macro
This adds an `iter!` macro that can be used to create movable
generators.

This also adds a yield_expr feature so the `yield` keyword can be used
within iter! macro bodies. This was needed because several unstable
features each need `yield` expressions, so this allows us to stabilize
them separately from any individual feature.

Do not get proc_macro from the sysroot in rustc

With the stage0 refactor the proc_macro version found in the sysroot will no longer always match the proc_macro version that proc-macros get compiled with by the rustc executable that uses this proc_macro. This will cause problems as soon as the ABI of the bridge gets changed to implement new features or change the way existing features work.

To fix this, this commit changes rustc crates to depend directly on the local version of proc_macro which will also be used in the sysroot that rustc will build.

298c56f4ba Simplify LazyAttrTokenStream.
This commit does the following.
- Changes it from `Lrc<Box<dyn ToAttrTokenStream>>` to
  `Lrc<LazyAttrTokenStreamInner>`.
- Reworks `LazyAttrTokenStreamImpl` as `LazyAttrTokenStreamInner`, which
  is a two-variant enum.
- Removes the `ToAttrTokenStream` trait and the two impls of it.

The recursion limit must be increased in some crates otherwise rustdoc
aborts.

6650252439 Auto merge of #128440 - oli-obk:defines, r=lcnr
Add `#[define_opaques]` attribute and require it for all type-alias-impl-trait sites that register a hidden type

Instead of relying on the signature of items to decide whether they are constraining an opaque type, the opaque types that the item constrains must be explicitly listed.

A previous version of this PR used an actual attribute, but had to keep the resolved `DefId`s in a side table.

Now we just lower to fields in the AST that have no surface syntax, instead a builtin attribute macro fills in those fields where applicable.

Note that for convenience referencing opaque types in associated types from associated methods on the same impl will not require an attribute. If that causes problems `#[defines()]` can be used to overwrite the default of searching for opaques in the signature.

One wart of this design is that closures and static items do not have generics. So since I stored the opaques in the generics of functions, consts and methods, I would need to add a custom field to closures and statics to track this information. During a T-types discussion we decided to just not do this for now.

063ef18fdc Revert "Use workspace lints for crates in compiler/ #138084"
Revert <https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/138084> to buy time to
consider options that avoids breaking downstream usages of cargo on
distributed `rustc-src` artifacts, where such cargo invocations fail due
to inability to inherit `lints` from workspace root manifest's
`workspace.lints` (this is only valid for the source rust-lang/rust
workspace, but not really the distributed `rustc-src` artifacts).

This breakage was reported in
<https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/138304>.

This reverts commit 48caf81484b50dca5a5cebb614899a3df81ca898, reversing

When we attempt to load a Rust source code file, if there is a OS file failure we try reading the file as bytes. If that succeeds we try to turn it into UTF-8. If *that* fails, we provide additional context about *where* the file has the first invalid UTF-8 character.

Fix #76869.

2620eb42d7 Re-export more rustc_span::symbol things from rustc_span.
`rustc_span::symbol` defines some things that are re-exported from
`rustc_span`, such as `Symbol` and `sym`. But it doesn't re-export some
closely related things such as `Ident` and `kw`. So you can do `use
rustc_span::{Symbol, sym}` but you have to do `use
rustc_span::symbol::{Ident, kw}`, which is inconsistent for no good
reason.

This commit re-exports `Ident`, `kw`, and `MacroRulesNormalizedIdent`,
and changes many `rustc_span::symbol::` qualifiers in `compiler/` to
`rustc_span::`. This is a 200+ net line of code reduction, mostly
because many files with two `use rustc_span` items can be reduced to
one.

in this commit, `naked_asm!` is an alias for `asm!` with one difference: `options(noreturn)` is always enabled by `naked_asm!`. That makes it future-compatible for when `naked_asm!` starts disallowing `options(noreturn)` later.

75b164d836 Use tidy to sort crate attributes for all compiler crates.
We already do this for a number of crates, e.g. `rustc_middle`,
`rustc_span`, `rustc_metadata`, `rustc_span`, `rustc_errors`.

For the ones we don't, in many cases the attributes are a mess.
- There is no consistency about order of attribute kinds (e.g.
  `allow`/`deny`/`feature`).
- Within attribute kind groups (e.g. the `feature` attributes),
sometimes the order is alphabetical, and sometimes there is no
  particular order.
- Sometimes the attributes of a particular kind aren't even grouped
all together, e.g. there might be a `feature`, then an `allow`, then
  another `feature`.

This commit extends the existing sorting to all compiler crates,
increasing consistency. If any new attribute line is added there is now
only one place it can go -- no need for arbitrary decisions.

Exceptions:
- `rustc_log`, `rustc_next_trait_solver` and `rustc_type_ir_macros`,
because they have no crate attributes.
- `rustc_codegen_gcc`, because it's quasi-external to rustc (e.g. it's
  ignored in `rustfmt.toml`).
