Unused since commit 622c48e4f1a5bc3727f8ead89767c8a9e367a77e
("Allow making `RUSTC_BOOTSTRAP` conditional on the crate name").
The codegen crate contains the code to convert from MIR into LLVM IR,
and then from LLVM IR into machine code. In general it contains code
that runs towards the end of the compilation process.
